Chill Factore - Public Services Trip

The trip was organised for the group to give them the opportunity to achieve some of the criteria for their Land-based Outdoor Adventurous Activities module, and for Lacho Kralev and Rachel Jablonski, teachers on the course, to show off their stunning skiing skills! (Next winter Olympics watch this space!)

During the session, the group took part in both skiing and snowboarding and developed very "stylish" skills and techniques. They also demonstrated some excellent "kamikaze" skills, wiping half of the other poor punters out, on their journey down the slopes, playing snowball fighting, and surprisingly still coming out uninjured.

Selina Barnett formerly of Haywood and Adam Lyth formerly of St Peter’s demonstrated some particularly impressive slalom skills. Whilst Selina, James Finney and James Henaghan developed taste for speed which could well lead to Graham Bell and the Ski Sunday team knocking at their door any day now.

Reanne Mayer, formerly of Birches Head said “The trip was so much fun, we learnt so much in such a short time and it has made us all want to go skiing properly for a week somewhere, only trouble is we have to persuade our teachers to take us.”

Following the trip the students returned to the classroom to produce a personal log book as part of their coursework assessment.
