A selection of students from the Sixth Form College have recently been collecting signatures in order to say thank you to diversity as part of the Rise To: Challenge.
The challenge is a nationwide contest in which participants have to say thank you to someone or something. Our students chose to say thank you to diversity which is a big part of life in college and Stoke-on-Trent by collecting thumb prints and messages of thanks on thier huge canvas.
The group finished in the top 3 of the contest after collecting thousands of signatures, including those from the local political scene and Stoke City Football Club.

Our VIP students volunteered to raise funds for the Rotary Club's Shelter Box Campaign. To raise funds, they put on a Survival Day which involved staff taking part in Bush Tucker Trials, cake sales and having a tent in the Main Atrium.
The Friday event raised £179 which will go towards the Stoke-on-Trent Rotary Club buying a new Shelter Box. “We’re very proud of our achievement as a group”, added Hannah. “It’s not easy as we have lessons and coursework and as a group, we aren’t always in the same classes, so we had to rise to the challenge of pulling something together with little time, but we did well and the day was a success.”
