Financial Support

Financial Support - Provided you are under 19 years of age when you start college and have been resident in the UK for three years or more, tuition is free. A variety of financial support arrangements are in place to help you where problems may arise.

The New 16-19 Bursary

In light of the recent changes in Government and the removal of the EMA scheme, a new 16-19 Bursary scheme has been introduced. Details of the Bursary are included in the paper below (published June 2011)

By applying for a new College Bursary you could find you are entitled to…

Over a £1200 in student benefits to help you during your time here with us if you live independently otherwise, you may be able to receive up to £1000 in benefits to support costs associated with your study.

*Please note that all are subject to college terms and conditions.

  • Up to £540 towards travel
  • Up to £200 towards essential course equipment or educational visits
  • Up to £150 in attendance awards
  • A Student NUS discount card for money-off high street shops
  • Superb deals and offers in our Costa coffee shop & restaurant
  • Cheaper gym membership at both Fenton Manor Sports Complex and Sir Stanley Matthews Sports Facilities at Staffordshire University – gym, classes and training sessions
  • Exclusive FREE term-time access to Fenton Manor Sports Complex Pool
  • Student coaching sessions at Fenton Manor Sports Complex in sports such as badminton, football and squash
  • Subsidised student parking at the Fenton Manor Sports Complex

If you are over the age of 19 or you live independently/in care, you may be entitled to up to £1200.
