Dear Parent/Guardian

Thank you for your support through the Ofsted inspection. We will share the results of the short inspection through the College website once we have received the formal text in the next few weeks.

As required by Ofsted, we contacted all parents with details of their online inspection survey. Unfortunately, this has not worked for parents (it has for students and employers) and despite us making Ofsted aware of this, they have not managed to fix this problem.

Thank you to those parents who sent letters to express their opinions: we shared this with inspectors during their visit. Your opinions are really important to us and we would like to build a stronger relationship with parents and families in the years ahead. Therefore, later in the year, we will be contacting parents again with the opportunity to complete a questionnaire. This will include the Ofsted questions and will only take a few minutes to complete. Watch this space!

Please can I also take this opportunity to thank the students: your sons or  daughters are a credit to you. The inspectors commented positively that the students were not fazed by the inspection team and that they carried on with their studies normally while inspectors observed lessons. This added to the really positive feeling through the inspection and the many conversations the inspectors had with students around the College. Inspectors were pleased to see so many students using the Learning Resource Centre at 08.00 am in the morning!

There is one place available on the local governing body for a parent governor and we will be advertising this opportunity at the open evening. Please think about whether this is something you could offer to support the College and all of the students within our community. If you would like further information about this valuable opportunity, please contact Michelle Simonds, the Principal’s Personal Assistant, on 01782 848736 or email michelle.simonds@stokesfc.ac.uk

We look forward to seeing you at the next Parent’s Evening on Tuesday 5th December from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm. If you have a younger children or relatives, our next Open Evening is on Tuesday 14th November from 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm.

Yours faithfully

Matthew J Marshall

Deputy Principal
