The City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College students are celebrating a sweep of outstanding A Level, AS Level and BTEC results, enjoying a six year improvement in success rates in Level 3 course with improvements in the majority of areas. The College vocational success also continued with top class results across all BTEC courses.

  • 924 entries with A Level pass rate 98%
  • Over a third of students achieving the highest grades possible in their subjects
  • A* grades achieved at A Level have doubled from 2013
  • 507 A* (or equivalent) grades achieved this year
  • Top class results across all BTECs – 1094 BTEC entries at a 99% pass rate with over 66% (two thirds) of students obtaining a Distinction or above (15% improvement from 2014)
  • 500 BTEC Students achieved the highest possible grade at BTEC (single, double or triple Distinction*) – significant improvement from 2015
  • Over a third of vocational courses achieved 75% of more higher grades (Distinction or above)
  • Two thirds of A Level subjects achieving 100% pass rate
  • 100% pass rates in Modern Foreign and Community Languages
  • Excellent performance in A Level STEM related subjects with significant increase in high grades across these subjects
  • 100% positive planned destinations for the Class of 2016. Three quarters of leavers plan to progress to university (14% above the National Average) and the remaining quarter into employment or further training.
