The University Quarter is a truly ambitious £200m regeneration project for Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire as a whole. The mission of the Quarter is education-led regeneration, designed to significantly raise the achievement of higher level skills and qualifications in the City, making the City a more attractive and competitive location for inward investment. The project combines an initiative by educational providers working together in a unique partnership to raise educational expectations, aspirations and attainment within the local area with the physical regeneration of a rundown area of the City Centre. The proposals provide the opportunity for targeted spatial investment supported by regeneration funding that seeks to address the forecast for over 15,000 employment opportunities to be created on key development sites (including the University Quarter) by 2014 (Source1)
