Hannah Parker, Chanelle Dobbs, Jess Griffiths and Adele Dale, all studying BTEC Sports Coaching & Development have chequed back into Seabrook Primary School to hand over the cash raised in the fun run back in May.The final total raised was £855.55 which will be donated to Cancer Research.
“We’ve all used our skills and abilities to work together in achieving these results” said Chanelle. “I’m the really organised one sorting out much of the administration; Hannah is great at developing links and liaising with outside agencies and Jess has been a great sports leader with the children - inspiring them to get involved and enjoy their running. Together we’ve learned a lot about working with others.”
Teacher Esther Brennan commented “We try to provide a variety of units in our sports courses to enable students to experience a diverse range of sporting skills & vocations. Event Management demands organisation, creativity and a need for excellent communication and teamwork. Channelle, Jess, and Hannah have demonstrated all of these throughout their course. It's not been easy at times, but they have quickly learned to appreciate individual talent; to share responsibilities and to put their trust in the team. I've been very impressed with their enthusiasm and progress towards achieving success in their event and forging excellent links with Seabridge Primary School. I was really pleased to award a well deserved distinction grade for this event.
