Sixth Form College students landed themselves an appointment in court earlier this term, but before worrying about seeing their mugshots at your local police station, they were visiting in the name of education. Students from A-Level Law donned their gowns and took to the stand to experience their own courtroom drama.
40 A-Level Law students took part in role playing for a theft case with Sarah Bereket taking on the role of the Judge and Aimmee Holdcroft and Dylan Wagg playing the Barristers. There was also a negotiation task which saw students try and reach a compromise with another party.
“They all really enjoyed it”, said Curriculum Manager for Law, Martin Davies. “They also had talks on applications to university, Law degrees and student finance which has helped them make their minds up about the process.”
