Anyone who walked into F29 on Tuesday or Thursday of this week might be excused for thinking on first glance that there had been some kind of tragic accident. Stan, a very lifelike plastic model is part of the ‘Classroom Medics’ team, he lies in a hospital bed (half dead) waiting for the students to assess his condition.
The Classroom Medics are a team of touring medics who visit schools and colleges around the country to help engage and inspire students, enabling them to make more informed decisions about their studies, their health and their career ambitions with fun and exciting hands-on workshops.

Stan and the team visited the college to work with Society Health & Development Higher Diploma pupils from local high schools on Tuesday, and Health & Social Care college students on Thursday.
The interactive workshops include giving students the opportunity to use a number of devices so that they can have hands-on experience with medical equipment. Testing blood pressure, lung capacity, heart monitors and using a device for students to take blood from a prosthetic arm are just a selection of the day’s activities.
