The launch event was a highly prestigious and significant event for the sector, well attended by Sixth Form College Principals, representatives from Funding agencies, Examination boards, the DCSF and OFsted. It was a true honour for three of our A level students and Richard O’Brien to be selected and invited to perform a stunning dance piece to the conference delegates as a celebration of our focus on students.

A Level Dance students – (pictured left with Curriculum Manager Richard O’Brien) Sarah Barnes, Katie Jones and George Hodson were amongst students from nine other Sixth Form Colleges in the country, who were asked to perform at the conference the real talent that Sixth Form Colleges are constantly nurturing.

All three students have applied to continue studying Dance at some of the top institutes in the country. George has a place at London Studios, Katie (pictured right) has a call back for Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and Sara has applied for Manchester Metropolitan University. George formerly of Endon High School said:

“I have really enjoyed taking part in the launch event. It was amazing to be invited to such an event and asked to represent the college. Richard has worked us really hard but it paid off and the audience seemed really impressed with our piece. It was good to watch the other colleges perform and see what type of activities they take part in. Visiting London also gave me a hint of what life will be like for me when I move to the City to study next year.”
