Career Progression in Clinical Pharmacy

Last Friday saw the visit of Dr C.K Tan, a senior lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy from Keele University Pharmacy Department. Dr Tan gave an interactive lecture on the role of a Clinical Pharmacist, and focussed particularly on the design, properties, formulation and manufacture of medicinal drugs.To motivate the students, Dr Tan used a series of physical experiments to demonstrate his points, and even got everyone involved in completing a ‘drug questionnaire’.The students were completely engaged by the lecture, and were fully prepared with questions about pursuing a profession in healthcare.Consequently, with over 350 professions existing in the healthcare industry at the moment, the students were delighted to find out that there would be many employment opportunities available to them should they pursue this career path.
