Sixth Form College Netball Squad Complete Perfect 10‑Game Season

The City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College netball team has completed a remarkable season by securing the AOC Sport West Midlands Tier 2 League title and finishing the campaign unbeaten, winning all 10 of their scheduled fixtures.

The title had already been wrapped up before Easter thanks to a commanding 70–30 win over Stourport School, and the team had been preparing to close out the season with the same intensity that has defined their campaign. Their unbeaten run stands as a testament to their discipline, energy and belief from the very first whistle of the season.

In recognition of their outstanding achievement, the squad were also presented with the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College Sport Academy: Performance Academy Award at the College’s ASPIRE Awards evening on Wednesday 22 April 2026, celebrating not only their results but their commitment, professionalism and development throughout the season.

Head Coach Brogan Thomas praised the team’s exceptional consistency and commitment throughout the year, saying:

This is an amazing achievement for the girls and a reflection of their hard work and commitment throughout the year. To go unbeaten across the whole season is something they should be incredibly proud of.

First-year student and Centre Tilly Thursfield, who is currently studying A Levels in Geography, Environmental Science and Physics, highlighted the team’s togetherness as a driving force behind their success, adding:

We’ve grown so much as a team this season. Everyone has pushed each other to be better, and finishing unbeaten shows how much effort has gone in from every single player.”

Goal Attack and first-year student Olivia Bromley, who is studying A Levels in Maths, Physics and Biology, reflected on the mindset that carried the squad through every match:

“We went into every game wanting to improve, not just to win. Ending the season with a perfect record feels amazing, and we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

This outstanding achievement also highlights the strength of the College’s Netball Performance Academy, part of the wider Sports Academy Programme that students can join alongside any combination of subjects. The programme provides specialist coaching, strength and conditioning, competitive opportunities and tailored support, enabling talented athletes to excel both on court and in the classroom.

The unbeaten run, the league title, and the Performance Academy Award together mark this as one of the College’s standout sporting achievements — a season the players, staff and supporters will remember for a long time.
