Exceptional 2026 Results Across A Levels, Vocational and T Levels.
The City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College is celebrating another year of outstanding
achievement, with 98% of A Level students passing their courses and nearly half achieving the
highest A–B grades*. Vocational and T Level students also excelled, achieved a 99% and 98% pass
rate, with excellence across the board, with most subjects reaching 80% high-grade outcomes.

once again delivered exceptional results — with students excelling in both academic and vocational
qualifications and progressing to top universities, high-level apprenticeships, and skilled employment.
- As the first college in the area to deliver T Levels, the City of Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form
College continues to set the standard — achieving a 98% pass rate and 86% high grades in 2025. - In T Level Education 77% of students achieved a Distinction, T Level Finance and T Level
Health 100% of students achieved a High Grade. - Technical education continues to thrive at the Sixth Form College contributing to the skills
development of the region. As part of their Industry Placement, all students have successfully
completed over 315 hours at a range of local, regional and national employer partners including the
University Hospital North Midlands Trust, Staffordshire County Council and Stoke-on-Trent County
Council, Novus and the Home Office.

University of Manchester to study Chemical Engineering.
Maheen is celebrating an outstanding set of results, achieving A* grades in Fast Track Maths, Chemistry and Economics, alongside an A in her Extended Project Qualification. She is now heading to the University of Manchester to study Chemical Engineering.
A highly conscientious and motivated student, Maheen is committed to producing work to the highest standard. Her organised and independent approach, combined with her determination to continually improve, helped her achieve consistently high results throughout her time at college.
Maheen also embraced opportunities beyond the classroom, supporting open events and taking part in the High Achievers Programme, including a three-day Cambridge residential and a visit to Oxford. She credits the support of her teachers and Progress Coach with helping her challenge herself and explore her future options. Congratulations, Maheen!
I’m extremely happy and relieved with my results. Achieving three A*s shows that all my hard work paid off. I’m looking forward to studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester and aspire to work for a global company in the future. Degree Apprenticeship or International Business at Keele University
A strong work ethic, resilience and determination have helped Sami achieve an excellent set of A Level results, including an A in Business, a B in Economics and an A in French. Particularly proud of his Business result after being predicted a B, Sami is now considering a degree apprenticeship or studying International Business at Keele University.
With excellent attendance and punctuality, Sami has consistently demonstrated strong independent learning skills and a mature approach to his studies. His conscientious attitude and ability to overcome challenges have helped him maintain a high standard of work.
Sami particularly valued the encouragement of his teachers, who pushed him to achieve his best, as well as the guidance he received when exploring degree apprenticeships. He also took part in the High Achievers Programme and made lasting friendships during his time at college. Well done, Sami!
I’m really happy with my results, especially achieving an A in Business when I was predicted a B. Rachel, James and Martin always pushed me to do my best, while Claire was really helpful when I was looking into apprenticeships. I’m now hoping to secure a degree apprenticeship, or study International Business at Keele University. The group of mates we formed over the two years was an unforgettable part of my college experience. Thank you to all my teachers for their support!

Degree apprenticeship at Rolls Royce doing supply chain management
Phoebe is celebrating an excellent set of results and is now heading to Rolls-Royce to begin a degree apprenticeship in Supply Chain Management.
A focused and methodical student, Phoebe has shown strong commitment to her studies. Her maturity, determination and approach to learning have helped her achieve the results she had hoped for and prepare confidently for the next stage of her career.
Phoebe also made the most of college life, taking part in Aspire Skiing, which helped her build confidence, and forming friendships that she will take with her beyond college. She credits the non-stop support from her teachers, particularly Alex Porter and Amy Dodgeson, with helping her achieve her goals. We’re proud of you, Phoebe.

University of Cambridge to study Architecture
Dan is celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results, achieving A* grades across Art, 3D Design and Maths. His results reflect his exceptional academic ability, creativity and determination, particularly his achievement of an A* in Maths through hard work and dedication.
He has developed excellent research, sketching, design development and CAD skills through his 3D Design studies, alongside producing ambitious and imaginative work in Art. His passion for architecture was strengthened through work experience with architectural firm 3DReid in London, while his 3D Design project went on to win the Potteries Trust Award.
Dan also completed an EPQ and took part in academic competitions alongside his studies. He particularly valued the support of his teachers, especially Rose and Mark, and is now looking forward to studying Architecture at the University of Cambridge, with the ambition of becoming an Architect.
I’m so overjoyed with my results! I’m particularly proud of achieving an A* in Maths through hard work and dedication. I’ve loved Art and 3D Design, especially developing my project and winning the Potteries Trust Award. University of Staffordshire to study Early Childhood Studies
Destiny is celebrating achieving a Distinction in T Level Education and Childcare, a result she is particularly proud of following a challenging journey. Her commitment and determination have helped her develop both her knowledge and confidence throughout her time at college.
Destiny has developed a strong understanding of child development and early years practice, confidently linking theory to her placement experiences. She is calm, patient and reassuring when working with young children and has a genuine interest in supporting their learning, development and wellbeing.
Destiny particularly valued the support she received for her wellbeing and the welcoming atmosphere at college. Taking part in a T Level taster day helped her build confidence, while receiving her Year 1 mock results gave her the motivation to set herself a high standard for Year 2. She is now looking forward to studying Early Childhood Studies at Staffordshire University, with the ambition of teaching and supporting children with SEND.

Darius is celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results, achieving A* grades in Maths, Biology and Chemistry alongside an A in Further Maths. His exceptional academic ability, resilience and determination have helped him achieve at the highest level.
Darius ranked 1st out of 70 students in Biology and finished 8th in Chemistry, placing him in the top 10% of the cohort. He has demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside a strong curiosity and independent approach to learning.
Alongside his studies, Darius has been an excellent peer mentor, supported open events as a Chemistry ambassador and helped Year 11 students with their college decisions. He particularly valued the additional support from his teachers and the opportunities provided through Student Leadership. Darius is now looking forward to studying Medicine at the University of Cambridge, with the ambition of becoming a doctor.
I was very ecstatic with my results – I have never been so relieved! The support from my teachers, including extra help outside of class, really helped me. I loved helping at open events and supporting Year 11 students. College has helped me become a much more well-rounded person, and I’m now really excited to study Medicine at Cambridge.

Ellie is celebrating an outstanding triple D* in BTEC Sports & Exercise Science, exceeding her expectations and reflecting her motivation, commitment and hard work.
A bright and enthusiastic student, Ellie has demonstrated excellent research, analytical and organisational skills. She is also an outstanding fitness instructor and coach, with strong motivational skills and practical experience in injury assessment, rehabilitation and massage therapy.
Ellie is a talented athlete and valued member of the college netball team, where she developed greater confidence and resilience. She particularly enjoyed completing the massage module, which gave her the opportunity to develop new practical skills. Ellie is now looking forward to studying Physiotherapy at university and pursuing her ambition of becoming a physiotherapist.
I was really surprised to get D*s across the board, as I was expecting Ds, so I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved. My favourite memory was completing the massage module, as it was an amazing opportunity to learn something new. Being part of the netball team also helped develop my confidence and resilience. Charles is celebrating an exceptional set of A Level results, achieving A* grades across all five subjects. His outstanding academic ability, determination and resilience have helped him achieve at the highest level.
Charles has demonstrated exceptional ability across his STEM subjects, finishing 1st out of 68 students in Chemistry and ranking among the top students in Physics and Further Mathematics. He also achieved Gold Awards in the British Biology and Physics Olympiads.
Alongside his studies, Charles completed an independent research project exploring superconductivity and medical imaging and volunteered at a nursing home, developing valuable communication, teamwork and patient-care skills. He particularly valued the excellent STEM facilities and support from staff, as well as the MDV programme. Charles is now looking forward to studying Medicine at Cambridge, with the ambition of becoming an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
I’m incredibly relieved that everything worked out. I’m proud of all my achievements, particularly because these are the subjects I need to study Medicine at Cambridge. The support from my teachers and the STEM facilities were fantastic, and the MDV programme gave me a clear roadmap for approaching medical applications. A naturally talented artist, Hannah has developed excellent skills across painting, printmaking, illustration, branding and design. Her 3D Design work has been particularly impressive, with her strong visual communication, analytical thinking and conceptual skills supporting her interest in architecture.
Hannah has also demonstrated excellent independence and organisation, responding positively to feedback and continually refining her work. She particularly valued the excellent facilities and support from her teachers, as well as the friendly atmosphere and the London Trip. Hannah describes coming to college as “the best decision I ever made” and is now looking forward to continuing her creative journey at Loughborough University.
I’m so pleased to have done well in all of my subjects. I’ve loved developing my creativity across Art, Graphics and 3D Design. The facilities, feedback and support from my teachers have been fantastic, and the London Trip was a particular highlight. Coming to college was the best decision I ever made.

Umer is celebrating an outstanding set of results, achieving a triple D* in BTEC Applied Science alongside an A in A Level Urdu. His hard work, maturity and commitment have helped him achieve an excellent result.
A conscientious and capable student, Umer has demonstrated a strong understanding of scientific principles and vocational applications. He particularly excelled in practical work, showing confidence, teamwork and leadership skills. His assignments have consistently been completed to a high standard, with Umer regularly going beyond the requirements to develop his scientific understanding.
Outside of his studies, Umer particularly enjoyed playing cricket and leading his team, as well as taking part in basketball and badminton. He valued the support of his teachers and is now looking forward to studying Biochemistry at Keele University, with the ambition of becoming a successful Biochemist.
I’m really proud of achieving triple Distinction*. My teachers were incredibly supportive and helped spark my curiosity for different areas of science. Mariya is celebrating an excellent set of A Level results, particularly her A* in Business! Her hard work, determination and commitment have paid off.
A highly conscientious and academically driven student, Mariya ranked 4th out of 844 students in her first-year end-of-year assessments and consistently performed among the top students in Economics and Business. She has demonstrated excellent analytical, evaluative and communication skills alongside strong commercial awareness.
Mariya has also taken proactive steps towards her future career, securing work experience in accountancy and developing an ambition to work in auditing or finance. She completed an EPQ and volunteered in Kenya, supporting and teaching students. She particularly valued the encouragement of her teachers, especially Rachel Davies and Martin Ward, and is now looking forward to studying at the University of Nottingham.

Kane is celebrating an outstanding triple D* in BTEC Sports Coaching and Development, with his hard work, commitment and passion for sport helping him achieve an excellent result.
A confident and energetic coach, Kane has developed an excellent rapport with people of all ages and has the ability to motivate and inspire those he works with. His understanding of sport, combined with his ability to apply theory to real-life sporting situations, has helped him thrive throughout his course.
Kane particularly enjoyed the extracurricular football opportunities available through college, including the FEA Football Programme with Stoke City. He also valued the support and guidance from his teachers, careers support and excellent facilities. Kane is now looking forward to progressing to university, with the ambition of achieving the UEFA Pro Licence and developing a career in football coaching.

Joe is celebrating an exceptional set of A Level results, achieving A* grades across Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Spanish. His results reflect his outstanding academic ability, commitment and determination.
Joe has consistently performed at the top of his cohorts, demonstrating excellent analytical, mathematical and programming skills. He achieved 100% in his most recent Further Maths assessment and a Gold Award in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, becoming the top-scoring candidate in his year. He also achieved an impressive 59/60 in his Spanish speaking assessment.
Alongside his studies, Joe was a course representative, volunteered at college open days and took part in the High Achievers Programme. He particularly valued the support with UCAS and mock interviews, as well as the inspiration of his Maths teacher, Richard Collins. Joe is now looking forward to studying Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.
Relieved! My A Level grades were expected, but I wasn’t sure about my STEP test grade for university, so that was a big relief. I’m particularly proud of getting 59/60 in Spanish speaking. College has given me more independence and allowed me to take my learning into my own hands. Richard Collins has been a great and inspiring Maths teacher – King of Maths!

Rebecca is celebrating an outstanding D* result, something she once believed was unachievable. Her maturity, determination and conscientious approach have helped her achieve an excellent result and develop the confidence to pursue her ambition of becoming a paramedic.
Rebecca has developed a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, health and disease, alongside excellent practical and analytical skills. In Psychology, she achieved Distinctions across her coursework, demonstrating a strong understanding of psychological theories, research methods and data analysis.
Rebecca’s passion for helping people has driven her ambition to work in emergency healthcare. She completed experiences including volunteering in South Africa and achieving her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and determination. She particularly valued the support of her teachers and the opportunities college provided to step outside her comfort zone.
I was so pleased to get a D* because I always thought it was unachievable. I’m particularly proud of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award because I didn’t think I had the resilience to complete it, but I did! Loughborough University to study Sports and Exercise Science
Owen is celebrating an outstanding set of results, including A* grades in Psychology and his EPQ, alongside A’s in Maths and PE. He is particularly proud of his A* in Psychology and is delighted that his hard work has paid off.
A highly motivated and dedicated student, Owen consistently performed among the top students in PE and demonstrated excellent analytical skills. His passion for sport has also been evident outside the classroom, including representing the West Midlands at the AoC National Championships in badminton.
Owen completed an impressive EPQ exploring the feasibility of playing sport on Mars, combining his knowledge of PE and Mathematics. He particularly valued the support of his teachers and the opportunities available to develop his interests. Owen is now looking forward to studying Sports and Exercise Science at Loughborough University, with ambitions of working in the sports industry.
I’m over the moon and very relieved! I was particularly surprised to get an A* in Psychology, so I’m really proud of that. One of my favourite memories was dropping tennis balls from the first, second and third floors of college for my EPQ experiment! I’d encourage anyone coming to college to take every opportunity they can and make the most of it.

Nottingham Trent University to study Chemical Engineering
Natasha is celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results, including A* grades in Maths and Physics and an A in Chemistry. She is particularly proud of achieving an A* in Maths following a retake, demonstrating her resilience, determination and commitment.
A highly capable STEM student, Natasha was ranked 1st in a cohort of 68 students in Chemistry and achieved a Gold Award in the British Physics Olympiad Senior Physics Challenge, placing her in the top 7% nationally. She also achieved a Bronze Award in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge.
Natasha particularly valued the support of her teachers and the opportunities available beyond the classroom, including the Next Engineers programme and an independent research project exploring nuclear fusion. She is now looking forward to studying Chemical Engineering at Nottingham Trent University.
I’m amazed and so proud of my results – it’s everything I’ve ever worked for. I’m particularly proud of achieving an A* in Maths after retaking it. Jake’s enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity and determination have helped him achieve an excellent set of A Level results, an A* in Sociology, an A in Politics and a B in Philosophy. He is now heading to the University of York to study Sociology, with ambitions to become a lecturer.
Highly motivated, independent and resilient, Jake consistently met deadlines and responded positively to feedback, always striving to improve. His articulate approach and genuine interest in his subjects have enabled him to make strong progress throughout his time at college.
Jake credits the support of college staff, including the SEN Team, with helping him achieve his goals. He also took part in a Politics summer school, while successfully passing Maths was a particularly memorable achievement for him.

Nottingham Trent University to study Medicine
Pip is celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results, achieving A* grades in Chemistry and Psychology, and an A in Biology and Maths. She is particularly proud of her A* in Chemistry, having worked incredibly hard to achieve a grade she never thought possible.
A highly motivated and enthusiastic student, Pip has a mature and focused approach to her studies. She consistently seeks feedback and acts on it to improve, with her end-of-year Maths assessment results placing her 3rd in her cohort, reinforcing her position as an excellent mathematician. She also achieved a Gold Award in the Royal Society of Biology British Biology Olympiad and gained valuable experience working at a medical centre, alongside volunteering in hospitals and taking part in the Derby University Medicine Pathway.
Pip particularly valued the support of her teachers and the opportunities available through the college, including the MDV programme, which helped her prepare for the competitive university application process. She is now looking forward to studying Medicine at Nottingham Trent University, with her sights set on becoming a GP.
It’s a surreal feeling. I was so nervous beforehand, but when I saw my results, I was just so proud of myself, knowing that all the hard work had paid off. I’m particularly proud of my Chemistry A* – I never would have thought I’d get that grade. My time at college has given me the support and confidence to work towards my goal of studying Medicine. University of Liverpool to study Law
Kyle’s hard work and determination have paid off with an exceptional set of results, achieving A* grades in A Level Law and Psychology and WJEC Criminology. He will now take the next step towards his ambition of a career in law by studying Law at the University of Liverpool.
An exceptional learner, Kyle consistently completed independent work to a high standard, often going above and beyond what was expected. His strong critical thinking skills developed throughout his time at SFC, helping him achieve an impressive set of results.
Kyle credits his teachers for their constant support and encouragement, particularly their ability to challenge him to keep improving. One of his most memorable moments was opening his results and seeing that all his hard work had paid off.
I was surprised by my results – I expected to do well, but not quite this well! I’m especially proud of my Psychology grade because it was a subject I had found most challenging. My teachers were the biggest help; they were always there to support me and push me to be better. I’m looking forward to studying Law at the University of Liverpool and pursuing a career in the legal profession. Thank you to my teachers for all their support!

RSM Tax Assistant Apprenticeship while studying towards AAT
Harriet is celebrating her A Level results after demonstrating outstanding initiative, resilience and maturity throughout her studies. She is particularly proud of achieving a B in Economics.
She chose to complete A Level Statistics in just one year, demonstrating her ambition and ability to manage an accelerated workload and is now progressing towards a career in tax and accountancy.
Harriet has secured an apprenticeship with RSM as a Tax Assistant, where she will study towards her AAT qualifications with the ambition of progressing towards the CTA. She particularly valued the support from her teachers, including support while managing dyslexia, and enjoyed balancing college with being part of the football team.
I’m very happy with my results, especially my B in Economics. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. The support from my teachers made a huge difference, and being part of the football team helped me balance college with other activities. I’m now really excited to start my apprenticeship with RSM.

DJH apprenticeship as a Paralegal
Alfie is celebrating an excellent set of A Level results, particularly his B in Economics. His progress reflects his hard work, determination and commitment to improving his understanding.
Throughout his Economics studies, Alfie has developed his analytical and quantitative skills, showing an ability to interpret economic data and apply theories to different situations. He has also made positive contributions to discussions and demonstrated a genuine interest in developing his knowledge.
Alfie has taken steps to explore his future career, including completing work experience with a financial advisor. Outside of college, he has also worked in a bakery, gaining valuable experience and developing his practical skills.
Alfie particularly valued the people he met at college and the support of his teachers. He credits his Economics teacher, Martin, with helping him achieve his B, while some of his favourite memories involved winding Martin up about his handwriting!
Alfie is now looking forward to starting an apprenticeship with DJH as a Paralegal, with the ambition of becoming a solicitor specialising in estate planning.
I’m happy to have achieved a B in Economics, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I know I wouldn’t have got the B without Martin’s support. I’ve really enjoyed my time at college, and the people have made it such a good experience. My advice would be that A Levels are hard, but if you try hard enough, you can achieve good grades!
