At the City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College we are keen to give our students the widest possible experience of the working world. We are committed to broadening the horizons of our young people and challenging stereotypes around the world of work.

Our aim is to ensure that our students have quality encounters with employers in order to help them to identify and confirm their aspirations and career aims, giving them the best possible start.  We aim to bring together employer partners with our talented students in the hope that they will provide insights, support and opportunities to our students, their future talent pipeline.

There are multiple opportunities to get involved and help inspire the next generation. Depending on your availability, you could give a short talk, assist with mock interviews, offer a short work experience placement or a longer T level work placement. Your knowledge and experience could help a young person to find their calling.

Whether you are an ex pupil, a local professional or someone who is passionate about your work, we would love to hear from you. Please explore below the ways that you can get involved and begin an exciting partnership with Stoke-on-Trent Sixth Form College and our students

work experience works!

We’re looking for forward-thinking local employers who would be willing to provide work experience for City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College students. Work experience opportunities are vital for students to gain an understanding of the world of work. By hosting one or more of our students you would be giving young people a great opportunity and bringing benefits to your own business as well as you get to meet your future talent!

Work experience placements are flexible and can be arranged to fit with your requirements.  This could be anything from just a few hours a week, a whole week or even a full day each week for a longer period.

Lots of jobs can help students gain valuable transferable skills, so even if your industry doesn’t directly relate to a student’s course, it can still be hugely beneficial. Offering work experience can also be an effective way to meet potential candidates for apprenticeships or even employment on the completion of the student’s course.

If your organisation is able to support our students by offering work experience, please complete the expression of interest form below.

We have offered more than 20 students work experience opportunities from Stoke Sixth Form College and though all students are different, students who are interested in animation are passionate, keen to learn and highly creative.

Our goal for Work Experience is to help students decide if they are looking down the right career path for themselves or not.

I am glad to say that placement students have made vital contributions but most recently (Easter Holiday) two gaming students supported a Games Jam we were hosting and supported two young children over their half-term to learn how to build their first computer game.

award sponsorship

Each year we recognise the amazing achievements of our students at our annual award event.  These are given to students who display outstanding attainment and progress.

We would welcome sponsorship for specific awards from employers and will be happy to discuss what specific subject/awards would be most appropriate for businesses on an individual basis.

If sponsoring an annual award by providing a small voucher of £25 or £50 is of interest to your business, please get in touch with our events and Marketing Team via the form below.
